METALS

 

Aluminum (for reflectors)

Pre-anodized hard-rolled pure aluminum sheet up to 99.9% pure aluminum.

 

Aluminum (luminaire housing)

Formed aluminum sheet deep drawing quality, 99% pure aluminum soft tempered, type 1050.

 

Aluminum (control gear housing)

Die-cast aluminum alloy as per LM 24 Ref. BS# 1490/1988 with maximum Zinc content of 1%.

 

Aluminum (optical housing)

Spun 98% pure aluminum sheets of half hard quality.

Alloy 1050 or equivalent

 

Aluminum (housing)

Extruded aluminum alloy and anodized natural color at 15 microns for maximum corrosion resistance.

Alloy 6063T6.

 

Aluminum (reflectors for outdoor luminaires)

Formed high purity aluminum sheet, anodized with 3.5microns.

Material thickness: upto1.00mm, up to 99.9% pure Aluminum.

 

Industrial aluminum

General grade to Alloy 1050 + 114 or equivalent.

 

Cold-rolled sheet steel

General grade JIS G3141

 

Stainless sheet steel

General grade to 304 Standards.

 

Stainless spring steel

Ultimate tensile strength 1300 N/m2

Cold-rolled, Hard drawn

Grade: ASTM – A666

 

Hot dip galvanized sheet steel

Cold-rolled and hot-dip galvanized by the Sandzimir process.

Coating thickness approx. 20microns.

Grade ASTM – A653.94

 

EGC Pressed Electro galvanized sheets

0.8mm thick sheet, 0.06oz/sq.ft.zinc coating on both sides, phosphated and chromate sealing.

 

RUBBER & GASKET

 

EPDM Ethylene propylene rubber.

Max. temperature approx. 1200 C.

Excellent ageing characteristics.

 

CR.Chloroprene rubber (Neoprone)

Max. temperature approx. 1000 C.

Good ageing characteristics. Good oil resistance.

 

Q Silicon rubber

Max. temperature approx. 1500 C. Excellent ageing characteristics.

 

Felt gasket

Water repellent type, 50% wool mixture and 220 Kg/m3. Density impregnated with hydro-fobol and self adhesive tape.  It has a good heat resistance and elasticity.

 

Polyester

Gasket to polyester stuffing or laminated felt polyester.

Up to 30 Kg/m3 Foam density. Strong to compression.

 

EC 1055

Extruded oil soluble elastomer gasket.

 

Silicone

Sponge rubber according to I.S.O. 3302 E2.

 

 

GLASS

 

Glass sheet – Flat Glass

Silicate glass, tempered.

Used where resistance to strong cleaning agents is required, but where brittleness is of no consequence.

 

Glass (for floodlights)

Clear flat glass 3 to 6 mm thick, high heat resistance and impact resistance of 2.5 ft-lbs. Transparency of not less than 90%.

 

Heat Tempered Glass

Clear curved glass 4 to 6 mm thick, heat tempered with a minimum light transmission of 90%.  Maximum allowable working temperature is 2500 C.

 

WIRE

 

- SILICONE GLASS FILLED WIRES max. temp. 1800 C.

 

- SILICON TEFLON INSULATED WIRES, max. temp. 1550 C.

 

- ECTFE RT WIRE (Halar) Fluorethene type

Max. temperature approx. 1550 C.

Excellent insulation properties. Insulates even after fire.

Excellent mechanical properties (abrasion, indentation).

Chemically resistant to all known solvents. Self-extinguishing.

Often used for internal wiring in luminaires with high-pressure lamps.

 

- PVC (polyvinyl chloride) wire

Max. temperature approx. 1050 C. Single wire conductor.

Often used for internal wiring in interior and industrial luminaires

 

- PVC (polyvinyl chloride) wire

Max. temperature approx. 1050 C. Multi-wire cable conductor

Often used for through wiring in interior and industrial luminaires.

 

PLASTICS

 

PMMA Acrylic (Polymetheyl Methacrylate)

Max. temperature approx. 1000 C. Transmission grade 85-92%.

Extremely stable to weathering. Limited impact resistance.

Not affected by alcoholic solutions, diluted acids or oils

 

ABS Acrylnitrile-butadena-styrene copolymer

Max. temperature approx. 850 C.

High impact resistance, especially at low temperatures.

 

UP Glass reinforced polyester (GRP)

Max. temperature approx. 1500 Deg. C. Very high tensile strength.

Good weathering properties, oil and chemical resistant.

 

PA Polyamide (Nylon)

Max. temperature approx. 1000 C.

Very good chemical and mechanical properties.

Weather resistant.

 

PC polycarbonate (U.V. Stabilized with 50microns layer)

Max. temperature when subjected to UV radiation, approx. 900 C.

(Otherwise approx. 1200 C)

Unbreakable. Transmission grade 89%, Impact resistance.

Sensitive to aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons (thinners, oils, petrol, etc)

 

PP Polypropene (propene)

Max. temperature approx. 1000 C.

Good impact resistance and chemical resistance.

 

PS Polystyrene (styrene) UV-stabilized

Max. temperature approx. 750 C.

Impact resistance somewhat lower than that of standard acrylic.
