PHOTOMETRICAL REPRESENTATIONS

There are different types of photometrical representations, each one specially indicated for certain categories of luminaires.  The photometrical curves printed in our catalogue are in conformity to the C.I.E. recommendations.

Abacus of illuminance

This means a classification of the luminaires following to the European system in relationship to their degree of blending.  The classification is applicable only on the luminaires for indoor use and consists in defining 5 quality classes, (A-B-C-D-E) corresponding to 5 blending degrees, class A is the less blending one and therefore the most comfortable, class E the most blending one.

Utilization Curve

Average illuminance on the roadway surface can be calculated with the aid of utilization curve of a road lantern. The coordinate being the coefficient of utilization or the percentage of lumens utilized in illuminating an area of given width and infinite length. The abscissa is the ratio: transverse width/mounting .

Utilization Factor Table

Classification of luminaires referred to the type of light distribution.  It is usually applicable on luminaires for indoor use.
